Love and Laughter.

If there were only two words I could use to describe Chris & Mandy’s wedding those would be it, love and laughter. As we were shooting their portraits I happily commented that Mandy was laughing in almost every image. She smiled and said, “That’s Chris. He is always making me laugh.” Chris not only kept Mandy laughing, he has to be the most expressive groom I’ve ever photographed 🙂 He is personality plus!

It was a gorgeous event from start to finish and you could just see the happiness and joy on the faces of all of their family and friends. Here’s to a lifetime of love and laughter! Congratulations Mandy & Chris!!

My clients always look forward to their engagement session for the lovely images that they will receive (and, secretly, I’m sure to also check something off of the busy wedding planning to do list!). But I love it for so much more than that. It’s a chance for me to get to know the couple and them to know me. We build a rapport and learn about each other. I find out about their hobbies, jobs, who has the wry sense of humor or maybe who needs to be drawn out a little bit more. We lay the foundation to ease nerves on the wedding day when things can be a bit stressful sometimes. And perhaps most importantly, the grooms learn that the picture thing isn’t so bad 😉

Congratulations Nathan & Tiffany! Thanks for surviving the warm, autumn evening for these beautiful images. I can’t wait to shoot your wedding next spring!

A beautiful wedding in an historic venue is the perfect way to spend a lovely autumn Saturday. The Kansas Aviation Museum made a wonderful backdrop for all of Allison & Robert’s wedding photos. I loved all of the art deco architecture that we were able to incorporate into their photos. They were married on the front steps before their friends and family and the reception was held inside the museum in the atrium. Everything was picture perfect and we loved being a part of such a special day.

Congratulations Allison & Robert!

It is such an honor to be able to photograph clients as their families grow and move through life’s many stages. I’ve had the privilege of photographing two of these darling littles since they were newborns and now here we are capturing this family’s extended family portraits. It was a busy session and I so appreciate everyone’s efforts to wrangle kids and tolerate the early autumn heat. The kiddos had a great time and that night I think we all (kids, parents and photographer!) slept well after running around the park trying to coax smiles and keep the attention of all the little (mostly!) happy faces 🙂

Craig and Rachel recently came into town for their engagement session. They were referred to us by one of our summer wedding couples, Corey & Nikole. There’s no higher compliment than a referral from one of our clients and we are so grateful for those wonderful recommendations!

Fall seems to finally be here and I’m so enjoying the beginning change of season in our portraits. The trees and greenery are just starting to show their subtle color changes and I love it! We’ll have a completely different season for their wedding this winter, so it’s always nice to have different looks to the engagement and wedding portraits. Thanks for coming into town for the session Rachel & Craig!
