Lois and I were so excited to work to shoot a wedding together! It’s not often that we get the opportunity to work together so it’s always a treat for us.
We started our afternoon at Hotel Old Town capturing those always fun getting ready images of Monika. She was in our very favorite room in the hotel, it has enormous windows which just flood the room with beautiful light. Monika’s hair was styled in an elaborate updo which was stunning and really brought your attention straight to her gorgeous eyes.
After we finished the getting ready images we went to Exploration Place for the ceremony and reception. There is nothing like shooting in Exploration Place with all of the natural daylight from the glass walls. After Kelly saw his beautiful bride for the first time we found some great places for portraits all throughout the museum. Cheri from Cheri’s Cakes & Cookies was busy setting up the square tiered wedding cake which featured purple and teal fondant with fresh flowers as accent. The cake was exquisite and tasted as wonderful as it looked!
Then it was time for the big event–the ceremony! Monika was all smiles as she was escorted down the aisle by her father. Vows were said, rings were exchanged and the ceremony was sealed with a kiss. The architecture of the room where the ceremony was held was dramatic as you can see in the photos that Lois captured from the back of the room.
After the dinner and dances we ducked outside to do some sunset portraits along the river and in front of Exploration Place. We captured some spectacular sunset portraits and couldn’t be more happy with how they all turned out.
