Kayla & Chris were recently married at the lovely St. Catherine of Siena church in Wichita. It was only my second wedding at that church this summer but I just love shooting there. The architecture inside of the sanctuary is beautiful and there is so much natural light to work with. I loved Kayla’s wedding dress, I haven’t seen another dress like it this season. Kayla got her dress at one of our favorite local dress shops, The White Dress. The beading detail on the bodice was stunning and the trail of buttons up the train made for a great photo as her dress hung in the window of the bridal room. After the ceremony we stopped by a nearby field for some more rustic country portraits before going into the reception. I was fortunate to be able to have Lois (one of my co-owner/photographers here at Lola Jo) photograph this wedding with me. We were just blown away by the beautiful cake when we entered the reception. Neither of us had ever seen a wedding cake like it before, and believe me, we’ve been to *a lot* of weddings and seen our share of beautiful cakes. The tiered cake was decorated in graduated frosting colors starting with a deep purple and changing each tier to a lighter shade. It was just an amazing decorating job by Laurel Street Bakery in Independence. As the sun was setting we ducked outside for a few quick sunset portraits–a beautiful end to a beautiful day.
Congratulations Kayla & Chris!!
