We had a wonderful time at the Wichita Bridal Expo last month–it’s hard to believe we’re already in February! We’ve been busy meeting with brides we saw at the Expo to reserve their weddings with us and following up with all of the inquiries. Things get crazy busy at the actual bridal fair so we always enjoy when we have the chance to sit down with clients after the fair to discuss the details of their wedding day in more depth. Getting to know about our clients, their family, wedding party and locations are all important for us to help plan their wedding photography schedule to ensure optimum time for the photography end while also making sure they will have plenty of time to enjoy their day.
One of the best parts of the bridal fair is having time to see all of our vendor friends and catch up with each other. I took my camera along to snap some quick pics of the great products and booths of some of our favorite vendors. Of course, we have to start our tour with the Lola Jo booth!
This year we again had a double booth space to display all of our albums and information. And mounted on our wall are five of our favorite images–those bad boys are 40×60 canvas gallery wraps! We regularly have them displayed in our studio and it’s always a bit nerve wracking to take them down, wrap them up and transport them to Century II to display but it’s so worth it every year when we stand back and see the finished booth. We love it! And of course, we have to give a big thanks to our amazing husbands, Matt & Cory, for all they do to help make this booth happen each year. Without them this booth wouldn’t happen! Thanks guys!!
Bowman & Company graciously provided us with our super swank table coverings. We loved the texture and polish they added to our both. Thanks Bowman & Company! They always have the most unique and stunning linens to choose from to make your event stand out. Each year Brandi and I have the hardest time choosing which linen to go with–so many beautiful options! I do have to confess though, that I lost count of how many times I glanced at the table and for a split second thought one of those round circles was a lens cap I had left laying down. Had to throw that last pic in as a reference for how close in size they are to a real lens cap, ha ha.
It’s always a treat to photograph at the elegant Wichita Boathouse so we were excited to see them at the fair this year.
Here are a few of the beautiful cakes from Wow.
Another venue we enjoy photographing weddings at is Fulton Valley Farms. We even feature a recent wedding we photographed at their venue in one of our new sample wedding albums.
Here are a few of the talented DJs with Another Dimension!
It’s always a delight when we have the privilege of working a wedding planned and coordinated by Bel Amour Events! We were so excited to drop off a sample album for them from a recent wedding we photographed in Dodge City that Bel Amour designed and coordinated–a stunning event as expected!
I loved this beautiful cake with delicately graduated color from Cameo!
Here is a beautiful bouquet courtesy of Susan’s Floral.
Look at the gorgeous headpiece from Dress Gallery! Special pieces such as this can be the finishing touch that creates the polished look that brides want. And they are so much fun to photograph not just in the finished bridal portrait but also in the detail shots for the day. They really add another layer and subtle sparkle to the bride.
And of course we had to stop by and say to our friends over at Tanganyika and catch a few photos of our images starring at their booth!
The White Dress always seem to have the latest designs and dresses we’ve never seen before so it’s always exciting to see our brides for the first time in their wedding gowns from The White Dress! Beautiful as always!
Stems is always a favorite with their lovely floral arrangements.
I’ve known Cheri for years and am always excited to see what she will bring to the bridal fair each year. And as a Walking Dead fan I was amazed at this Walking Dead groom’s cake! It just goes to show that no matter what hobby or special interest a groom has–there is a cake that Cheri can make for him!
The chalkboard wedding cake is sweet and pretty–so original and I haven’t seen any of those at a wedding yet. I’m sure it will be a popular option for the 2015 bridal season!
The fine folks from Complete Music!
Abode Venue is just gorgeous. It’s modern style really stands out and offers contemporary brides a stunning venue for their event. We always love photographing weddings there and have given them a sample album to share with prospective clients of one of the recent weddings we captured there.
Events & Design by Ashley is another wonderful event planner and designer that we have here in Wichita. Her booth was designed with a nod to the 2015 Pantone Color of the Year–Marsala. Her booth was stunning, just like the weddings she designs.
There were so many more vendor friends I wanted to feature on our blog but the brides were starting to steam in so it was time for me to get back to our booth and begin greeting them.
Thank you to everyone who came out to the fair! It was a wonderful way to kick off the 2015 wedding season!!
