Kenton is the son of good friends of ours who we’ve known for years. Our kids have all gone to school together and love to hang out. His family has a wonderful dairy in Whitewater and our city kids always get a kick out of hanging out at the farm and helping with the chores–which the country kids find very amusing but I’m sure they don’t mind the help 😉 Kenton is now the third kiddo from their family I’ve had the privilege of photographing during their senior year. Time just doesn’t slow down! Happy senior year Kenton! We know you’re looking forward to graduation and wish you all the best!

We’ve been playing hide and seek with the sun lately so I was thrilled that we had a warm and sunny afternoon for Clay & Abby’s engagement session. The weather and location were perfect and subjects were pretty awesome too 🙂 We made sure to include Brody in some of the photos as well and, boy, he really knows how to shine in front of a camera! I can’t wait to see how much fun we have on the wedding day next spring!

Nothing makes me smile more than hearing from an old friend. And while Facebook makes it possible to stay up to date with friends and family from all over the world it’s so great to see each other in person from time to time. That was exactly what I was able to do with the Martin family recently. Jennifer and I have known each other since kindergarten! She was back in town with her family as was her sister so they decided it was time for an updated family portrait. We had to dodge some sprinkles and think warm thoughts but we were able to catch up a little and capture some lovely fall family portraits.

Autumn is family portrait time! There is nothing I love more than seeing my clients over the years and photographing them at their different stages of life. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to step in and see them again after their lives have grown and changed. The last time I photographed the Bacons was on their wedding day and now here we are a few years later and they have a darling little boy, Jackson, to chase after and keep up with.

Life goes by so quickly. Take it from me, make time for family portraits. Kids grow up. Family moves away. Loved ones leave our lives before we’re ready. Take the photos. Print the photos. And love on your family. It’s the only way to catch a save a tiny moment in time.

It is such a privilege to have the opportunity to photograph a family over the years and be present for those big, life event moments which is exactly what I was able to do with Eric & Ali. Several years ago I photographed Ali’s sister wedding and this autumn it was her turn to tie the knot. I was thrilled to share another special wedding day with Ali and her family. The wedding was at the beautiful St. Mark’s Catholic Church and the day couldn’t have been more perfect with wonderful weather and the couple so very much in love.

Congratulations Eric & Ali!
